A home interior spin on celeb gossip; red carpet fashion inspiring furniture features.
Furniture Inspired by best-dressed celebs
So, who else watched the Brit Awards earlier this week? Whether for the music or the comedy, the outfits (or outfit mishaps!) we all love award show entertainment and the promise of more celebrity gossip. You know what I mean, “I can’t believe so and so wasn’t nominated” or “oh em gee have you seen the latest celeb power couple” type of conversation. Gossip was especially the case in 2015 when Madonna fell down the stairs, it was all anyone could talk about for days afterwards! At Carme we wanted to put a home interior spin on the celeb gossip, and we don’t need anyone to take a tumble to do so. Read on for Furniture Inspired by Fashion: The Brit Awards 2021 Best-Dressed Feature.
Singer Harry Styles can always be counted on to wear a statement floral or otherwise non-binary outfit. Harry Styles has style (cringey we know but we couldn’t resist) and wore a Gucci 1960s inspired geometric suit with flared trousers. As wild as it sounds, he pulled it off and made it to the top of our best-dressed list! Another achievement for Harry, who also took home a Brit Award for his hit single Watermelon Sugar. We took furniture inspiration from his handbag, which featured the classic Gucci bamboo handle.
Shop Bamboo and Wicker for specially sourced bohemian bamboo pieces. We especially love the Jungle Jane vibe of this bamboo screen. Add greenery and style with houseplants; after all, you can’t have boho interior without botanicals! If you want more on the fashion evolution of Harry Styles, we recommend the Vogue article, “163 Photos That Prove Harry Styles Hasn’t Always Worn Lilac Feather Boas” for an interesting read. One Direction Harry Styles and solo Harry Styles dress very differently.
The girl band that’s gone from four to three will soon be five as two of the Little Mix trio have announced their pregnancies (tongue twister, right?). Winning best British Group and looking angelic in white, the group glowed in “matching but not matching” full length evening dresses from designers Maison Margiela, David Koma and Vivienne Westwood. We took furniture inspiration from their coordinating colour palette, and what other brand can we recommend for all things white than The White Company. The clue’s in the name really. We recommend their reed diffusers; the pomegranate scent is a firm fave at Carme HQ, but there is a variety of other fragrances to choose from. Style tip! Reed diffusers make great #dressingtabledecor for your Carme Dressing Table.
TV and radio presenter and personality Maya Jama stunned in a black cut-out blazer dress dripping in diamanté’s. She had just the right amount of sex appeal (wow but not OTT) while still oozing red carpet glamour and accessorised the look with a matching statement Bulgari diamond necklace and earrings. Maya presented the backstage section of the Brit Awards this year, working hard and looking fabulous! The furniture inspiration for this celeb look has to be our very own Bali Sunset Velvet Dressing Table in Noir Black, another black beauty which features a quilted diamond effect finish. Proof that diamonds really are a girl’s best friend. The dressing table also has a single spacious drawer for storing Maya’s jewellery after the awards (or after the after-party!).
