How To Style Your Dressing Table – Carme HQ Edition

In this blog we’re going to be interviewing a selection of our Carme HQ girls and finding out how they use and style their dressing tables. Hopefully, you’ll find some inspiration!

So, you’ve just purchased the dressing table of your dreams (from us we hope!) and it has its own place of glory in your dressing room or bedroom. The get glam set-up you’ve always wanted is finally yours, but the interior styling doesn’t stop here. We think that what you put on (or around) your dressing table says a lot about a person.

“I have the Taylor grey dressing table with oversized Hollywood light mirror. It’s positioned in my south-facing bay window in my bedroom which gives me the perfect natural lighting to do my makeup, but at nighttime there are Hollywood lights which feature three different colour settings to give me that much needed glow. I decorate my vanity table with a large rose gold skull candle and my Charlotte Tilbury miracle cream. The Taylor has great storage with drawers and display compartments, so I don’t need to put too much clutter on the tabletop. A clear space makes for a clear mind, and my bedroom reflects this.”

“My Millie X Laguna dressing table consists of individually sold items, but sold together, they make a gorgeous combination mirrored dressing table set. The Millie trifold mirror is an LED vanity mirror, the tri folding mirror aspect makes it easy to do my makeup when I can see from three different angles, and you can never go wrong with an LED mirror. The Laguna is a silver mirrored table with black table legs. I place my makeup brushes in a pot on the vanity desk tabletop, and I decorate with a framed photograph of myself and my husband, we were enjoying a holiday in sunny Marbella!”

“I have the Tokyo Glow from the Velvet Couture collection of velvet dressing tables in shade Baby Blue, a gorgeous pale blue tone that pops against my white walls. The velvet of the dressing table has a quilted diamond finish, and my bedroom walls have simple paneling; I love to layer texture in an understated way. I decorate my dressing table with artificial pink flowers (so they’re everlasting!) and the pastel shades perfectly complement each other. I also place my Neom candle on the tabletop; it smells good, it looks good, it’s a treat for the senses.”

“My Peaches X Ivy vanity dresser table consists of an individually sold Hollywood mirror (the Peaches) and mirrored table (the Ivy). It sits in my dressing room, which has a nude and cream colour palette with hints of black (if you’re searching for dressing room ideas!). I style my makeup desk with big, beautiful bunches of pampas grass. It’s crazy how dried grass has now become an interior trend, but I’m fully here for the craze and I place it in a cream vase. I also have a black reed diffuser for that slow-release fragrance to make my dressing room smell delightful 24/7.”

“I’m a huge lover of dark colour interior of blacks and charcoals, so for my dressing room I opted for the Bali Sunset velvet dressing table in shade Noir Black. I didn’t want to overcrowd the tabletop because I wanted to show-off the white marble effect tabletop, so instead I opted for minimalistic touches. I have a selection of Jo Malone perfumes (black bottles!) and an amethyst geode crystal. I’m a believer of the power of crystal healing, and the amethyst healing properties are calming, relieving stress and anxiety. The LED mirror light makes the amethyst crystal sparkle too!”
